Common questions
When does the Western States lottery open?
For the 2027 race, the Western States lottery is open from November 1 to November 21, 2026, and the draw is on December 5, 2026. Your qualifying race has to fall between November 3, 2025 and November 8, 2026.
When does UTMB registration open?
UTMB has not announced the 2027 dates yet. Its help page says pre-registration normally opens in December, with the lottery in January. Last year it ran from January 8 to 19. Tick UTMB above and you will get an email the day it opens.
How do the reminders work?
Tick the races you care about and leave your email. When a race opens, you get one short email about that race. You also join the Running for Views newsletter, and you can unsubscribe any time.
How current are these dates?
Every race was checked on its official site on Oct 15, 2026. A date only shows when the race has published it for the next edition. Anything else is marked as expected, based on last year. Always confirm on the race site before you enter.
